A marionette puppet show full of poetry and action, it takes you in, moves you and invites you to have fun.
The marionettes are hand-made by the puppeteers themselves, and they become alive – you’ll be surprised at how they are able to transfer emotions! Hanging by a Thread is without spoken words or spoken dialogue, and each character has their own story that they tell through movement and music, interacting with the actor-puppeteers showing the magic of the marionette; that is, the puppet on a string.
The company “Di Filippo Marionette” was created in 2012 by Italian Remo Di Filippo after 2 years of study and research in the world of Puppetry, in Barcelona Spain.
In 2014 Filipina-Australian Rhoda Lopez joined the company, and since then, the company has performed in more than 30 countries and in some of the most important puppetry theatres and festivals in Europe and the world.
This company has its own style that is well recognised and appreciated by the public and critics. The manipulators don’t just bring the puppet to life, they interact directly with it, eliminating the historical distance between puppet and manipulators, thus we can call them ManipulActors.
This show will be followed by a Q&A session.
